LAVIASA

PA-25 P-3

The PA-25 P-3, a popular entry-level agricultural aircraft, is returning to the marketplace with its U.S. debut at NAAA's 2012 Trade Show! Argentina-based Laviasa manufactures the PA-25 and has tapped Eagle Vistas LLC as U.S. representatives. The PA-25 is available as a single-seater or two-place canopy version for ag pilot training and banner/glider towing. Laviasa's PA-25-260 HP can be purchased with the new fuel Injection Lycoming Engine, IO-540-D4A5 (constant speed prop) and can utilize LL-100 and ethanol (with an STC). Approvals for auto gas are expected by year end. Use of the SMA 305-230E diesel engine is currently under development in the new PA-25 Airframe. The SMA engine generated a great deal of excitement at EAA's AirVenture 2012 in Oshkosh, Wis., last summer because it burns JET A fuel and can produce 230 HP to 10,000 feet at 11 GPH. Manufacturing representatives from Lycoming and SMA will be on site to answer questions regarding their new engines.
