On April 30, the House of Representatives passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567) by a vote of 224 to 200, marking the furthest a farm bill has advanced since 2018. Of specific note to the aerial application industry, some of the regulatory relief and operational protections that sailed through the Agriculture Committee in March were removed during floor consideration.
NAAA joined nineteen national aviation organizations and 18 state/regional agricultural aviation associations in a letter to FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford earlier this week to highlight several safety issues raised by the recent helicopter slackline accident near Superior, Arizona.
The Federal Aviation Administration’s annual General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey (GA Survey) is now underway, reporting on calendar year 2025. FAA survey administrators report a strong start to this year’s effort, with additional communication efforts underway this week and next to encourage participation from those who have not yet responded.
NAAA and NAAREF are bringing back the Flying in the Wire and Obstruction Environment Course on Sunday, Nov. 15th at the Savannah Convention Center. This course will be taught on the Sunday before the start of the 2026 Ag Aviation Expo, Nov. 16-18.
