Politico Poll Shows Make America Healthy Again Movement (MAHA) Drawing Public Support

Findings from a national poll conducted last month by the news media service POLITICO found that the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, spearheaded by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., drew broad, bipartisan public support on several health areas despite its lack of supporting science justifying a number of its health policies. The MAHA movement is often credited with helping President Donald Trump win in 2024. The information that follows are results from the survey that is relevant to the aerial application industry.

Exactly half of those polled (50%) believe the overall population is not healthy. When asked what the main drivers of poor health were in the U.S., 11% responded that it was from the use of pesticides in the agriculture industry, with 13% saying that pesticides and chemicals in agriculture were the main health problems in the U.S. In terms of opinions about the MAHA movement, 48% of those polled support it, with 38% identifying themselves as part of the movement, 22% are neutral towards MAHA, and 12% have no opinion towards MAHA. Regarding policies, 56% stated they support MAHA’s position of banning genetically engineered foods or GMOs; 68% support MAHA’s position of limiting pesticide use; and 72% support MAHA’s position of reducing the impact of microplastics.  Regarding the safety of the American food supply, 46% agree it is generally safe; 22% disagree that it is safe, and 33% either don’t know or neither agree nor disagree on the safety of the American food supply.
