NAAA Education Initiative for Drone Operators Receives Media Attention, Podcast Coverage
On March 19, NAAA sent a widely circulated press release announcing education flyers emphasizing compliance, safety and environmental professionalism for spray drone operators and their customers. The flyers were developed by the Uncrewed Aerial Application Systems Committee of NAAA. The press release was picked up by CropLife, Agri-Marketing, American Ag Network and Farms.com.
The flyers were distributed to an extensive network of individuals and organizations to ensure they reached their intended targets: spray drone operators and their customers, including spray drone manufacturers and distributors, for inclusion in their spray drone packaging. In addition, the press release and flyers were emailed to numerous government agencies in agriculture, pesticide enforcement and aviation, enabling these officials to further disseminate the information to spray drone customers and spray drone operations.
On Tuesday evening, NAAA participated in FAA’s monthly Ag Drone Podcast organized by the agency’s FAAST team. NAAA’s presentation promoted safety, compliance and professionalism in the spray drone industry. During the podcast, NAAA discussed its new educational flyers developed by its Uncrewed Aerial Application System Committee, designed to reach uncrewed spray drone operators and customers to ensure they are following aviation safety and environmental regulations and best management practices established by the aerial application industry. The speakers were Andrew Moore, NAAA CEO; Joel Jones of Drone Crop Services in Arkansas; and Jeramy Williams of American Drone in Wisconsin—both members of NAAA’s UAAS Committee.
